As one of the invited speakers at We Are Cochrane on Feb 28th, I am delighted to share my story "Learning to Fly". @kellyday.yogawild
“It has taken a while to feel at home in the world. Like a bird in a cage.
I have always been highly sensitive and a peacemaker. Willing to sacrifice my truth to avoid conflict or the disappointment of others. To be loved. To be accepted. To not ruffle any feathers or to avoid judgement. From a young age I had trouble using my voice. Having raw and open conversations about life and emotions wasn't commonplace in my world, so I learned that it is just easier to go with the flow. Look respectable. Work hard. Be good. Do what society (and my family) expected of me.
As an adult, I yearned to learn to use my voice and when I did, it was like the door to the cage was opened. “
Come and join us for an evening of storytelling and see vulnerability in action. Tickets can be purchased here! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/we-are-cochrane-tickets-1144426633869
